Childbirth education classes
Evidence-based classes covering the stages of labor, what your body actually does, your pain options, and how partners can help. We make space for your questions, including the awkward ones.
I work with families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. In person, online, or in small group sessions.
Carla Abboud
Midwife & Breastfeeding Consultant
Calm, practical support, with no judgment and no rush.
I'm Carla, a registered midwife, doula, and certified lactation consultant. For more than ten years I've sat with mothers through pregnancy, the long hours of labor, and the tender first weeks at home with a new baby.
I'm trained in Advance Life Support in Obstetrics, and over those years I've supported hundreds of families through everything from a first latch to a vaginal birth after cesarean.
What I bring is calm, practical support that meets you where you are. No judgment. No rush. I'll tell you what I'm seeing, give you real options, and stay close while you decide.
CREDENTIALS
Pick what you need, when you need it. Each chapter stands alone, or weaves into the next.
Before labor begins, the work of preparation. Bodies, plans, and partners.
Evidence-based classes covering the stages of labor, what your body actually does, your pain options, and how partners can help. We make space for your questions, including the awkward ones.
A working document, not a wish list. We translate your preferences into language hospitals respond to, and prepare backup options for the moments birth doesn't go to plan.
Positions, breathing, and comfort techniques you and your partner will actually remember when contractions hit at 3am. Practiced, not just discussed.
Setting things up before the baby is in your arms, so the first days feel less like guesswork.
How milk supply actually works, what the first 72 hours look like, and how to set up your space so feeding is easier from day one.
Whether bottle is plan A, plan B, or somewhere in between. Paced feeding, formula choices, and how to keep the bond strong.
Pump selection, building a freezer stash without losing your mind, and a realistic schedule that survives meetings and traffic.
The hours that matter most. Steady hands, calm cues, an advocate in the room.
I stay with you from active labor through the first hour after birth. Steady hands, calm cues, and an advocate who knows when to speak up and when to be quiet.
Coaching for partners. The questions to ask, the touch that helps, the words that don't. So you both walk into the room as a team.
For families planning a vaginal birth after cesarean. Preparation, advocacy, and labor support tailored to the questions VBAC raises.
The fourth trimester. Healing, sleep when you can, and the questions you didn't want to Google at 4am.
Home visits in the first six weeks. Checking on healing, helping you sleep when sleep is possible, and answering the things you didn't want to Google at 4am.
Scar care, gentle movement, and feeding positions that don't pull on your incision. Plus an extra set of hands while you heal.
Short, regular visits to keep an eye on baby's weight gain, your healing, and to catch small issues before they become big ones.
Honest conversations about how you're actually doing. Sleep, mood, eating, the relationship. Referrals when needed, no judgement.
Bathing, soothing, sleep, carrying. The small skills that build the first months.
Bathing, diapering, swaddling, soothing. Taught with a real baby (yours) so it sticks. We practice, you ask, we practice again.
Weight, feeding, output, reflexes, skin. A full check-in to confirm what's normal and flag what needs a paediatrician.
Realistic, age-appropriate strategies. No cry-it-out at three weeks old. We meet your baby where they are.
A safe, comfortable carry that suits your body and your climate. Wraps, ring slings, structured carriers. We find the one you'll actually use.
Whatever is happening at the breast: we figure it out together, written plan included.
A full feeding assessment. History, observation, latch, transfer, plan. You leave with something written, not just reassurance.
If your latch hurts, something's off. We'll fix it together. Positioning, latch mechanics, and tongue function, all looked at properly.
Whether you're worried baby isn't getting enough or you're drowning in milk, we figure out what's actually happening before changing anything.
A gentle, gradual plan that protects your supply, your comfort, and your baby's adjustment, at the timeline that fits your family.
Save when you book continuous care.

Thanks to you Carla! I really appreciate the time you took and how detailed and caring you were throughout the session. It was honestly so informative and comforting. I learned so much, and it truly made a difference for me. Your approach and the way you explained everything helped me feel much more confident.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your incredible support and care during my labor and delivery. Your calm presence, encouragement, and professionalism made a truly meaningful difference in my birth experience. I felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for, and I will always be thankful for that.
Carla is amazing! I did my prenatal sessions with her and she was such a huge help when it came to breastfeeding too. She is so kind and made me feel super supported and confident as a new mom. Her tips for breastfeeding made everything so much easier and less stressful. Couldn’t recommend her enough!
Carla helped me a lot during my pregnancy, specially when I started collecting colostrum for my baby before birth. And after birth she played a huge role and supported me in breastfeeding since day 1. From positioning to understanding how it goes to pumping, she made my journey even more beautiful.
I wanted to tell you thank you. You have no idea how much better I felt after you left. I was feeling down but you gave me a boost of confidence. Him feeding from both breasts is the highlight of the day. Going to sleep tonight with a huge smile on my face and a full heart.
Hello Carla, wanted to thank you for the prenatal and baby care course. It was a truly valuable experience. The sessions were well-structured, covering everything from pregnancy preparation and labor expectations to newborn care, feeding, and soothing techniques. The information was clear, practical, and easy to apply.
I felt almost desperate about breastfeeding before you messaged me back and visited me. Specially post c-section and the challenges I went through with a pre-term baby who was admitted to the NICU for 48 hours. You were so generous with your time and information. I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding for 5 days now.
I really benefited and it was like the first time I heard this information. You explained so much in the lesson. I understood my body more, how labor stages work, the birth plan, its details and birth positions. So many points you taught me and encouraged me even more for this experience.
Alhamdulillah I came to you for a breastfeeding consultation. I benefited so much about the way of pumping, storing, and when to use it. The most important thing now: you told me to change the baby’s position. I changed his position because mine was wrong before, and now he is finally getting milk.
